This is just a blog about things that happen or random thoughts that go through my head. Hmmm, could be scary at times...lol. I hope you aren't bored silly with it, then again if you are, oh well. It is MY thoughts here, anyway...LOL.

My wife Karen
Marriage...what is it to me? It is the devotion to my wonderful wife, Karen. She is everything to me, of course, second only to the Lord. I do fail at many times to be the loving husband that I should be and occasionally rant about something stupid to her.
But, through it all, I do love her dearly. Why am I rambling about this...I don't know. It is just something that I feel I want to say. I just feel that it is important to me. I want everyone who reads this (even if it is only one or two of you out there) to know that.
I think that every marriage should be like this. I know some say otherwise, but I really feel that the devotion to your spouse is important for a lasting relationship. I am coming up on 21 years on the 9th, and am very happy in my marriage.
Karen may say otherwise with the way I have been acting the last few months. But I am happy...I just get other thoughts and aggravations in my mind and ended up being a total butthead toward her, since she is the closest to me.
I do have to add, that I don't like myself when I do this. So far, she has been a great wife and I wish that I can do more to show her that I really do love and appreciate everything that she is to me. She is my friend, we do so much together...laugh, cry, talk all the time, walk our dogs, and the one thing I attempt to avoid...shop. LOL!! (Karen can appreciate the humor in that). I don't understand some things though, but that is the fun of our marriage. I get to learn new things about her even after being married as long as we have. One example, she told me about a year ago (or sooner-I can't remember exactly) that one of her favorite foods is pizza. Duh, why didn't I figure that one out? We were ordering pizza almost every other week at her prompting. That was definitely a brain fart on my part...lol. What else can I say about her...I can say that I am amazed at her brilliance and creativity. She thinks of the most creative gifts to those around her. This goes for family, friends, and even co-workers. She is very introspective and does a whole lot of thinking. She takes friendship very seriously, and won't just call anyone a friend upon first meeting them. But, one guarantee is that once she decides to be your friend, it is a true and lasting friendship. I know I could go on and on about her, there is so much to be said about the love of my life, but time is a factor and I have a great deal to do. The grass isn't going to get cut with me sitting here typing...LOL. Besides, I want Karen to be able to get out there to do her sunning that she hasn't had time for this year yet. :-)
Anyway, can you tell that I love her?

Who likes Facebook anyway...
Facebook, what a discovery for me!!! I have created a page for myself about a month ago. I am still learning all the stuff it has. So far, I have added "friends" to my profile, put up some "Flair", added a Bible verse-a-day, and some other things. It is truly amazing, first there was "MySpace, and now Facebook. Networking and meeting new people on the Internet is actually pretty cool with these two sites as tools. I know, you are probably thinking, Duh!! I will admit that Facebook is a new thing for me, but I do enjoy it. I just have a hard time with all the "stuff" that is available to send to one of your friends. I do not mind having the ability to chat with a friend or family member without downloading instant messaging software on to my computer, but the sending of virtual gifts to me is a bit much.
The one thing that I do like to receive is Pieces of Flair. These things allow me to express my interests or opinions to anyone looking at my profile. I don't even have to spend time typing anything out, how easy is that? I have noticed that for every Piece of Flair you receive or send, you get 3 Flair credits to add to your own profile. There is one thing that is annoying -- the constant barrage of virtual gifts that someone can send you. Don't get me wrong, they can be fun, but when a friend sends them constantly each and every day it can get old. Enough is enough already. Oh, another pet peeve is how can one person be a fan of a whole gammit of things. I can see being a fan of a football team, or even a baseball or basketball team, oh, and even the occasional TV show or Movie. But for heaven's sake, some people want to be a fan to practically everything under the sun, how can that be? LOL!! Just kidding, I can see how it can happen, you get sucked into the browsing thing, then you see that one topic that reaches out to you. So, you think, I like that, hmmm I want to be a fan to that too!! Next thing you know, you've become a fan to 5 or 6 different things for that one day alone...LOL...too funny!
Oh well, this was going to be a short one. Just wanted to post so anyone following this isn't thinking that I don't do anything with it anymore...lol! I do, just whenever the mood strikes me to post. One of these days I will talk about an online game I play...WoW!! But not too much, Karen doesn't like it and thinks that whoever play it are computer geeks...well, I guess if the shoe fits...lol!!!

The Year in Review
There have been some good and some bad for us this year. Anyone that has been reading this the last few months would know this. It does seem that it is mostly bad. But no matter what, the Lord has been with us through it all and as we all know "what does not kill me will only make me stronger". I think a recap of the year for my own good is needed, especially since I didn't start blogging until midway through the year. So here goes...
Back in April, I put in a bid for two different supervisor positions, didn't get either one. I also did my reserve two weeks during this time.
June, Dominique (our 11-year old Dalmatian) spent a week in a veterinary emergency hospital to recover from HGE (sorry not going to go into what it is, you can look it up on WebMD.com or just Google it). That same week Karen and I lost Molly (our 16-year old Lab/Chow mix) we believe her heart just gave out and she just didn't have the strength to hold herself up any longer either.
Hmm, July, a happy month...First of all, this month was our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Hurray for us!!!! I for one do not know how she puts up with me. I give her a lot of credit for that and Love her dearly for it, too!!! Second, Molly left an empty spot in our hearts and home with her passing. Whether you believe it or not, Dominique was also acting mopey lately, too. We decided to go to the SPCA to pick out another dog. We welcomed Nellie, supposedly a Lab/Beagle mix, into our home. She is the sweetest dog I have ever had. As a quick side note, Dominique occasionally would be grouchy and nip and snarl at her and Nellie just takes it all in and continues acting "happy go lucky" as if nothing happened. We definitely got a sweet one with her.
August, I changed shifts to try to work with Pierce (the guy that got one of the supervisor jobs) to improve my versatility in the plant. I have sort of been pigeon-holed on one machine and didn't have much experience with other areas. I hope to changing that soon.
October brought us to Raleigh, N.C to visit spend time with friends in our travel group with this adoption. As you have seen from my post on October 27th that we all had a good time. My dad's wife, Sheila, had heart surgery and pulled through and we are very thankful of her recovery.
November, we had Thanksgiving dinner at my mother and father-in-laws' house, here in Sumter, S.C. Karen's aunt and uncle from Tennessee came down and were here also. It was good to see them again.
December was not a good month for us. We were dealing with Karen's dad's passing and trying to get through Christmas together. It was good to be with family and I think I can speak for everyone in saying we missed Mr. Billy. He didn't say too much very often, but we definitely missed his quiet presence. It wasn't the same without him.
Mr. Billy, you are missed by us all!!!
Well, that was a very brief synopsis of my 2008. I am hoping and praying for a blessed 2009. I want to wish you (if there is anyone reading this) a blessed New Year too!!!
Have a Happy New Year in 2009!!!
God Bless us all,
Bob
